The Systems Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing, maintaining, and optimizing data systems and infrastructure to support decision-making and operational efficiency. This Systems Data Analyst role bridges the gap between IT and business by interpreting complex data sets, troubleshooting system issues, and delivering actionable insights.

Overview of Systems Data Analyst duties:

  • Analyze and interpret system data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
  • Monitor and maintain data systems and infrastructure to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
  • Design, create, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Excel.
  • Support data integration and migration projects across systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, cloud platforms).
  • Assist in managing databases, data pipelines, and system interfaces.
  • Investigate and resolve data discrepancies or system errors across applications.
  • Document system configurations, data flows, and analysis procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy policies, and security standards.
  • Participate in the testing and implementation of new systems or updates.

Qualifications of Systems Data Analyst:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2-5 years of experience in a data or systems analyst role.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Excel, and one or more BI/reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with systems integration, ETL processes, and data mapping.
  • Strong understanding of database systems (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.).
